A holiday gift, made and shipped start to finish. 🎁

When Deciens — the venture firm backing the next generation of fintech founders — started planning their annual founder holiday gift, they came to us with a fun brief: a culinary-themed box, subtly branded in their signature blue and orange. We took it from there — designing the pieces, co-branding them, hand-dyeing the textiles, and packing and shipping every last box ourselves.

The box centered on a trio of handmade goods, each finished in a palette pulled from the Deciens brand. Our Waffle Trivet in Marigold and White Terrazzo Catch-All were cast by hand and stamped with a co-branded pretti.cool × Deciens mark on the cork foot — both logos on a single branding iron, so the two always land together. Alongside them: a hand-dyed tea towel in a custom gradient of deep navy into turquoise, flecked with bleach speckle, dyed in-house by our co-founder Kari (who happens to hold an MFA and teach studio art).

Getting the towel right took a lot of trial and error. Kari mixed and pulled dozens of test swatches before landing on the final gradient — the kind of hands-on, no-two-quite-alike process that makes a corporate gift feel like anything but.

Then came the part most studios hand off — fulfillment. We packed each box with the goods plus the Deciens team’s own recipe cards and holiday note, then shipped half directly to founders across the country and the other half in bulk to the Deciens crew. Labels, boxes, packing peanuts, and all.
