Hi everyone,
It’s still hot as hell here in Houston, but we hope the September weather is treating you all well. We are very aware that it is not fall yet, but we can’t help thinking / dreaming / fantasizing about it. Mike has been busy in the studio making ghosts! They come in three sizes, two colors, and we are fully obsessed. We also love that they are evergreen Halloween decorations that can be brought out year after year. There are plenty of other autumnal things on the website too — our very own pumpkins, these gourd candles from Scandles, and more.
We are (always?) thinking about dinner, both what to eat and what the table will look like. In Houston we have a second growing season that lasts sometimes all the way through the winter, since we don’t get early freezes here. That makes for an abundant produce season, even if we aren’t always grateful for the hot weather that makes that growing season possible. When it comes to setting the table, these sphere candle holders come in lots of colors; these beeswax tapers read very autumn to us; this tortoiseshell serving bowl is so versatile; and this wine bottle coaster will keep your table safe. ICYMI: We also did our very first partnership with FabFitFun, which was a huge deal for us! FabFitFun is a subscription box with a huge following. We’ve been looking for the right project to do together for years — a small handmade studio and a million boxes is a fun puzzle to solve. We finally found the solution in the Tortoiseshell Collection, featuring a large bowl, two glasses, and an olive oil cruet. These are glass and ceramic, made overseas with FabFitFun’s manufacturing partners — a first for us. Our concrete is still hand-cast in Houston. Consider this the fancy cousin who studied abroad.
