The Ace Hotel wanted a small, round soap dish for each of their guest rooms at most of their properties worldwide. They liked our coasters and rectangular soap dishes, but needed something smaller, so we created a new mini version to fit their needs.

Here’s a fun one: the Ace in Palm Springs is the reason our natural terrazzo colorway exists. For their desert-modern guest rooms — all warm light and midcentury cool — we developed a soft, sandy terrazzo we originally named “Sand.” It was such a good fit that it became a permanent, core colorway in our line. The natural terrazzo mini soap dish we made for their rooms is where it all started.
